13 MARCH 17

So we have been working really hard here in Ecinmoica. Last week we had 86 Contacts. As well 28 lessons. So it was a good week for work. Now we just need to get them to be investigators and we can get them progressing. So it’s for sure that we will have the baptism on the 11 of March. He has everything, he is ready for everything in the church. So we are really happy about that. It will be the first baptism in the zone for this month!

So in a mission we have ups and downs. It seems like you go 1 step forward and 2 steps back. For example Sara the other investigator that we have has date to be baptized on the 18the of March. We have everything good for that the family is all good with it the church is ready to help. But remember that this was the investigator that is getting married as well. So that’s all good to go and all that. The only thing is that the wedding will cast Q300! Which we don’t have... So we are going to see what will happen.

So everything was going good with our one investigator Elias. The interview was planned and the date for the baptism was planned. The only bad thing that happened was his wife came out are went off at us about how he’s a bad man and his sick in the head and he’s crazy and all that but we have never seen that. As well he told us that he did some bad things in his life and he told us he repented about it all. So we had an interesting day with that.

So our investigator Sara is super awesome. She wants to learn a lot about the church and everything we do and she is really excited for the baptism. I really want to baptize her but my comp told me, No I want to do the baptism for her. You can do the other one. He told me straight up no. I know he’s selfish and all that but i never thought it would be this bad. Oh well I know I’ll be with him for another change. Like my old man said if you love your comp you will only be there with them for one change. But if you hate your comp you will be stuck with him for 3 changes. So we’ll see what will happen.

So everything went good with the interview for Elias on Thursday! Which means he will be baptized on the 11 of March. We have everything set in place for that! Our district leader is funny because he said okay we need to do this perfectly because we only have one form. But he messed up on the form so we will just fill one out on the day of the baptism.

We got some sad news on Friday. We are working with bring this member back to church and as well baptize his wife. It was all really good. She was taking the lessons well. She was understanding everything. She was ready and she wanted to be baptized as well. But the kicker was we had to get them married. We had everything set up, the church was going to help with the Q300 to cover the wedding. That was all looking good. But when they got their papers back for the marriage and it’s said on the husbands that he was already married and is still married. He thought the divorce papers went through but they didn’t. So now if he wants to get married he has to be divorced first. But the kicker there is it will take 2 months at the least for the papers to go through. As well it cost Q4000!! And I know we don’t have Q4000. It was hard when we told her she can’t be baptized yet... She started to cry when we told her. As well the husband started to cry as well. He said that he’s sad that he can’t have his family be eternal yet... it was really hard.

So we were going to have a baptism on the 11the of March. On that day everything was good. We had water) because sometimes we don’t have water. We had clothes for the baptism. We had members and investigators to come. Everything was perfect. But our investigator Elias who was going to get baptized didn’t show up.  HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN? When you have everything and you pass the interview.  But I decided to go back and remember the lessons with him. And he never had a problem with anything, he read, He came to church. He was ready for everything. But then I said maybe this was one of those too good to be true moments. Like this was supposed to be the problem with this investigator. I was really mad and really upset but then I remembered one scripture in Alma 26:27. It reads Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said go amongst thy brethren, the laminates, and bear with Patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success.

You learn a lot on a mission but most important you learn patience through hard times. Because there’s a lot of hard things in a mission but we just have to keep moving forward with patience.
